Wires & Nerve coverHello everyone!! So last week on my way to Book Con (posts about that coming soon!), I read Wires & Nerve* by Marissa Meyer and LOVED it!!!! It was sooooooo good!!!!! But, before I get ahead of myself and say why I loved it and why you totally have to read it, here’s a synopsis of the book, via Goodreads:

In her first graphic novel, bestselling author Marissa Meyer extends the world of the Lunar Chronicles with a brand-new, action-packed story about Iko, the android with a heart of (mechanized) gold. When rogue packs of wolf-hybrid soldiers threaten the tenuous peace alliance between Earth and Luna, Iko takes it upon herself to hunt down the soldiers’ leader. She is soon working with a handsome royal guard who forces her to question everything she knows about love, loyalty, and her own humanity. With appearances by Cinder and the rest of the Rampion crew, this is a must-have for fans of the bestselling series.

Sounds awesome right??!!! Now, just to let you know (if you haven’t figured it out already), Wires & Nerve comes AFTER Winter, aka the fourth book in the Lunar Chronicles* so don’t read W&N (or this review) until you’ve finished this series because W&N and my review will be spoilery for the Lunar Chronicles books. So ya, go read TLC before you read my review and W&N!!

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..read the series?? Awesome! Continue on; here’s why I loved Wires & Nerve:

Plot (A+): Soooooo as you guys can see from the synopsis, W&N takes us along Iko’s journey as she takes down rogue wolf-hybrids and kicks butt all around Earth and y’all it was AWESOME!!!!!!! I’m not gonna say how it ends – or how it middles lol – but I loved the plot and it didn’t get boring – I HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS BRO IT AIN’T BORING – and I thought part of it was cute – I NEED MORE PG 61 AND 227 AND 230 AND 234 – and it was just in general really fun! Like I loved hearing from Iko’s POV and reading about her and I thought the plot did really well to bring that out!

Characters (A+): Like Winter* from The Lunar Chronicles, we get to see all the TLC characters in W&N and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I always love it when I get to see faves interacting and talking to each other and seeing them all talk to each other and work with each other and just DO things after what happened in Winter was pretty wonderful and special!! TBH, I think seeing all the faves together was the best part of Wires & Nerve! Also, I loved all the relationships/friendships we get to see extended in W&N as chemistry with other characters makes up quite a bit of how well the characters come across.

Art (A++++): Since this is a graphic novel – aka it’s pics + words lol – and I am an artist, it’s a given that I am gonna critique the art and……it’s WHOA! Like pretty much all the characters look how I thought they’d look – although Thorne is more lanky than I imagined him but he still looks good/like he’s Thorne – which is wonderful! Also, the art in general – like the backgrounds and settings and general characters – all look soooooooo goooooooood! I absolutely love it!

Setting (A+): I won’t give much (or really any) away from the book however in W&N we see Luna and a bunch of other Earth places and I thought it was awesome that we got to see them and I loved loved loved the art for em so I certainly thought the settings were lovely!!!

So ya, that’s my really fangirly review! I absolutely loved Wires & Nerve* and I can’t wait for the second book to come out!!!! You guys totally need to read the book!!!! Now, have you read Wires & Nerve?? If so, what did you think of it and how excited are you for the second book??? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks, have a great day/night and tata for now!!

Pssssst! Not into fairytale retellings? No worries! Marissa Meyer has a new book called Renegades* and it has superheroes in it (ahhhhhhh!!!!) but it’s nothing like you’ve seen before! I’ve already read a sampler of it and I can’t wait to read the full thing! Preorder it now* so you can read it ASAP too!!
