Welcome to Earth, where each type of race and ethnicity has been and is being
looked at as if they are more or less privileged than others;
as if equality didn’t exist. For those who don’t believe me, take a look at
the hardships of the races/ethnicities:
If you are Black,
you are expected to work harder than others just to show that
you are as educated as any other person with the same opportunities as you
and you’re as violent as any other common person is (which is not at all).
If you are Hispanic/Latino,
you are also expected to work harder than others to show that you are educated,
that you won’t just sleep with anyone, that you may not be the standard Latina beauty,
but you are still beautiful or handsome in your own way just like anyone else.
If you are a Native,
you also expected to work harder than others to show that you are educated
and that you are not a hippie.
If you are Middle Eastern,
you are held up at airports, you can’t be too quiet or else you may be considered to be plotting
and you can’t get angry in a public that knows you are Middle Eastern, or else you may be a terrorist,
you can’t wear a hijab or turban or burka or else you may be considered a terrorist.
If you are White,
you can’t fight back at those who think you are at fault for your ancestors’ bad choices or else you
are told that you are just some white privileged person and it was your fault in the first place.
If you are Asian,
you are expected to be the smartest, and know all the right answers; if not, then people act
intellectually superior than you and feel they are worthy to the title just because
they “beat an Asian at his/her own game”.
If you are Indian,
you are also expected to study hard and be the smartest in class, but you also get the jokes
that your future consists of you working as a telephone or computer fixer upper or driving a taxi.
Do you believe me now?
